Medical Assist to First Due House Fire

November 19 – Members started a rather steady day off around 2 PM with a medical assist on Miller Drive.  Brush 7 arrived to assist Ambulance 7-9 with a fall victim.  EMS requested air medical which was handled behind the fire department.  Engine 7-2 and Brush 7 handled the LZ with 8 personnel.  LifeLion 3 out of Carlisle transported the patient to York Hospital. The next call of the day led crews 1241 Apple Tree Lane for a reported house fire.  Assistant Chief Bumbaugh arrived in less than a minute to find a working attic fire.  Chief Wishard arrived and established command.  Engine 7-2 and 13-2’s crews worked quickly to extinguish the attic fire and check for extension.  Extensive salvage and overhaul was completed.  A family pet was safely rescued during initial operations.  While crews were operating on the hose fire EMS was called to assist on a severe crash at mile marker 12 on Interstate 81 South Bound. EMS arrived to find crews operating on an accident where multiple vehicles were overturned and patient’s trapped or ejected.
