Feb 15, 2016 – @1740hrs Communications struck the 7-5 box for a House Fire in the area of 3 E Main Street, Fayetteville. Eng 7-1 w/6 and the DC went en-route at dispatch and received information from county of multiple calls and Fire showing. Eng 7-1 reported smoke showing from the firehouse and arrived before the end of dispatch with a 2 story dwelling fire showing from C side and DC7 passing command. Eng 7-1 stretched a line to the second floor and found 1 room off with extension into another. Eng 7-2 w/4 arrived and finished the split lay to the school and stretched a back up line to the fire floor and assisted with hitting hot spots and opening up. A past chief from Co.7 arrived and established command on side A shortly after the first engine arriving. Fire was marked under control before mutual aid departments arrived. Crews continued to work for several hours in the snow and ice to complete overhaul. Great job by all and Thanks to Co.15 for handling the transfer.
The FVFD is working with the residence of the home (Active member of Co.7) with there needs in this tragic time.
