Fayetteville Fire Department it a 100% Volunteer Fire house that responds to over 700 Fire, Rescue, and QRS calls per year, making The Ville one of the busiest volunteer fire companies in Franklin County. The Ville also has its own paid EMS staff that works hand and hand with the volunteers on calls. We currently operate a 1995 Pierce Engine, 2002 Pierce Engine, 2010 Seagrave Heavy Rescue Squad, 2012 Ford F-350 Brush Truck, 2013 Dodge Ram Utility Truck, 2013 Polaris ATV Rescuer.

Fayetteville Volunteers provide fire suppression, vehicle extrication, technical rescue, hazmat support, and first responder EMS services to the community. Our First-due response area is comprised of most all parts of Franklin County. In addition we provide mutual aid response to several other counties including Adams and Cumberland County.

Fayetteville Fire Department is also a very community oriented department that holds such functions as bingo, public dinners, annual carnival, chicken BBQ’s, annual open house, and several other functions. Fayetteville Fire relies on the on the help, dedication, and hard work from many volunteers to continuously be successful in the service. Live-In’s are asked to attend as many community functions as they are available to attend.

As Live-In’s become oriented with the department and its standard operating procedures, live-in’s will be required to take a standard riding test that all members of the department are required to take as well. As live-in’s complete their probationary period, they will be given the opportunity to become a driver and operator on all department apparatus after completing required drivers training hours. Also after probationary period, live-in’s will be given the opportunity to hold a department fire line officer.

Any persons interested in becoming a live-in, at Fayetteville Fire, will be asked to participate in an informal interview with the live-in membership committee. The live-in committee will then evaluate the application and the interview notes and candidates will be notified within 2 weeks.

In addition to cost-free living, The Ville provides wireless internet, full size workout room, cable TV, wash/dryer, full size kitchen, and areas of studying. The Fayetteville Fire Company is only a short commute to several area post-secondary schools, including; Shippensburg University, Mont Alto College, Wilson College, Harrisburg Area Community College, Hagerstown Community College, Gettysburg College, and several others.

The Ville Live-In Program also caters to participants with an interest in career fire service employment. Several current and past live-ins have obtained employment with many leading departments. These individuals routinely assist participants with preparing for the rigors of testing, interviewing, and academy life. Some of the departments they have obtained employment with include: Chambersburg Borough FD, Letterkenny FD, Washington DC FD, Montgomery County Fire Rescue, Howard County Fire Rescue, Anne Arundel County Fire Rescue, Loudoun County Fire and Rescue, Winchester Fire and Rescue, and along with several others.

The Ville Live-In program provides endless fire, rescue, and EMS training. The Live-In program gives members great exposure to company level, state level and national level training opportunities at no cost. Fayetteville Fire covers all costs including registration, travel, lodging and other associated costs. Live-In members routinely attend programs at the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy, Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute, and the National Fire Academy.

Preferred minimum training includes: Firefighter I, PA DOH Vehicle Rescue Technician, Hazardous Materials operations level, CPR/AED and PA DOH First responder or Higher.
