MULTIPLE RUNS FOR BEGINNING OF MAY – The Fayetteville Fire Department started off May with multiple runs throughout the first week.  On May 4th at 1408 hrs units were alerted for possible brush fire on Greenfield Drive.  First arriving units arrived to find a small bush against the house on fire.  No extension was found and crews went in service at 1417 hrs.  On May 5th crews handled Wires/Brush Fire on Mt. Cydonia Road at 1451 hrs.  A few hours later tones were struck for the auto accident with entrapment at the intersection of Ridge Road and Black Gap Road.  Chief 7 and Lieutenant 7 arrived within minutes and confirmed two vehicles head-on with two patients trapped.  Crews worked quickly to get both individuals out of the vehicle.  Engine 43 (Station 4) handled the LZ at the Mt. Pleasant Church.  One patient was taken to Chambersburg Hospital and the second to a trauma center.  May 7th members were alerted for a house fire at 1692 Alligator Reef Avenue.  While responding crews were advised that the homeowner stated that they had a grill fire on their deck extending into their house.  Upon arrival Engine 7-2 and the Fire Chief found a gas grill on fire with no extension into the residence.  Chief 7 held Engine 7-2 only and placed the remaining in service.
