HOUSE FIRE – Today March 1st at 0335 hrs communications dispatched units to 8070 Lincoln Way East for the house fire and when chief 7 arrived, he found heavy fire showing on side A and fire from the second floor windows on side B. EMS was requested immediately for one patient. The home owner had just jumped from a second floor window and porch roof and was having trouble breathing due to smoke inhalation. Firefighters were able to make a quick attack on the first division but had lots of difficulty getting to the second division because the floor and stairs were totally burnt away. Eventually, firefighters were able to gain limited access to the second division. The first alarm assignment, the transfer crews and an additional truck were requested to the scene to assist with overhaul. Units cleared the scene at about 0700 hrs. The PSP fire marshal was notified to investigate the cause of the fire.
