EMS CALL TO A BOX ALARM

September 29, 2014-  Shortly after 5:00 PM an EMS call sent the BLS unit to 900 Block of Black Gap Road for an injured subject.  When the EMS unit arrived they realized they had more than what they were expecting.  What they found was that the homeowner was working on a propane cylinder when it ruptured causing catastrophic damage to his house and causing traumatic injuries to himself.  The box alarm was requested sending Company 7, Station 4, 5, 17, and Adams 4 and 27.  Duty 7 (Sgt. C. Bumbaugh) arrived and established command.  Crews did a 360, secured utilities, and metered the residence.  The patient was flown to a local trauma center.  Crews remained on the scene for around 1 hour.
