September 4th – Shortly after Company 7 units cleared an accident at the 19.5 Mile Marker fire police reported a horrific accident that left one dead and four others injured. Just after 7 PM crews were dispatched to the 20 MM southbound (West End Fire & Rescue Box) for an auto accident with entrapment and fire. Shortly after dispatch Ambulance 7-73 (Shippensburg EMS) arrived to find one auto fully involved with a victim still inside. There was also a small pickup on its side with the patient trapped and another vehicle that was rear ended. Engine 7-1 was the first fire apparatus to arrive and deployed attack lines to the vehicle involved and Squad 7 arrived shortly after to start extrication of the overturned truck. Crews remained on the scene for around 2 hours.
