BUSY SATURDAY

March 15 – While crews were manning the station the 7-81 box was alerted just before 3 pm for an MVA.  Squad 7 and Engine 7-2 responded with 10 personnel. While en route communications advised one auto into the median.  Deputy Chief 47 arrived confirming dispatch and recommended holding it to Squad 7 and the ambulance.  Assistant Chief 7 held the box with the Squad and Ambulance.  While clearing the next box was put out for a brush fire 1025 Pine Stump Road.  Crews arrived to find a 100×100 foot area with exposure issues.  Brush 15 and Tanker 52 were requested to assist with suppression.  Due to high winds in the area there was numerous brush fires around the area this day.  Crews cleared within an hour.  While members were cleaning up after the brush fire they were alerted to the 3000 block of Lincoln Way East for an auto accident with entrapment.  Units arrived to find one auto on its side with one confined and one self-extricated.   After quick stabilization and a rapid roof flap the patient was removed within 9 minutes and turned over to EMS. Command 7 (AC 7) requested air medical to the scene and it was handled by company 7 units at Norlo Park.  The next box came in at 7 pm for 15 Greenlea Way for inside investigation of smoke.  Crews arrived within minutes to find a tripped breaker.  Command 7 (AC 7) held it with company 7.  And the last call of the day came in at the request of Lieutenant 15 for the 1700 block of Coldsmith Road for a brush fire.  Crews arrived to find a large pile of construction materials.  With no exposure issues company 7 members were able to quickly extinguish the fire.  Thanks to all members for their hard work today!
